Florida men can’t keep it up

Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy have issues keeping it up…

The SoFi Center dome in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, a custom-built venue for Tiger and Rory’s new golf league (TGL) just collapsed. The league blamed an overnight power outage.

And listen, I don’t want to point fingers, but the TGL does have a, um, complicated relationship with the LIV Tour… which is backed by the Saudis… who have a history of destroying buildings…

Not great, Bob…

The engineering blunder is bfd considering the TGL is expected to launch in January. As in the month after December. ESPN is set to air the first match on Janaury 9th (probably the right move to not go with Janaury 6th).

No word on whether there will be a delay or not.

On the brink…

To be fair, this might not even be the biggest setback for the league this month. Jon Rahm, who, for the record, just won the Masters decided to pull out of playing in TGL’s inaugural season. I mean, can you blame him? I wouldn’t step foot in that dome either…

Then, of course, there’s the elephant in the room… the aforementioned Saudis.

Friendly reminder: the TGL is loosely affiliated with the PGA. The same PGA that was reportedly planning to merge with the LIV Tour and fulfill MBS’ sportswashing ambitions.

That is until some American suitors entered the chat with f*ck you money of their own. The Fenway Group and others have reportedly been in talks with the PGA to put together a superior offer.

Things are complicated, to say the least…
